Peter Dinklage voices Captain Gutt in Ice Age 4
Somehow my little birds fell asleep on the job and neglected to inform me that Peter Dinklage is voicing the character of Captain Gutt in the animated movie, Ice Age 4: Continental Drift. I had to find out in Variety like a commoner, and IMDb also beat me to it.
Captain Gutt is the simian pirate leader who does baddie things, giving Dinklage a chance to play the villain once again, as in his roles as Dr. Simon Barsinister in Underdog and on stage as Richard III. Dinklage also voices Gutt in the animated short, Scrat’s Continental Crack-up Part 2, shown in theatres as a trailer during Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked back in November, 2011. As you can see, Gutt is clearly a Gigantopithecus with bad teeth.
The full-length Ice Age movie starring Peter Dinklage as Captain Gutt will be released on July 13, 2012.
Peter Dinklage to star in “A Case of You”
News broke yesterday that Peter Dinklage will star in a new indie film, A Case of You, alongside Justin Long (Alvin and the Chipmunks, The Mac Guy in commercials) and Evan Rachel Wood (Mildred Pierce, Thirteen). Justin Long is both writing and producing, with Kat Coiro (L!fe Happens) directing. Also in the cast is Arizona’s own Busy Philipps, reuniting with Dinklage since their planned TV show Testing Bob fell through back in 2005. Keir O’Donnell (Lost, Sons of Anarchy) will also appear.
No character assignments have been announced, but the story revolves around impressing a girl online and requires a string of lies to keep up appearances. You know, purely a fictional storyline that could only happen in a movie.
Peter Dinklage Wins Golden Globe Award
Tonight was the awards ceremony for the 2011 Golden Globes, and nobody was surprised that Peter Dinklage won yet again for Best Supporting Actor in his role as Tyrion in HBO’s Game of Thrones. Except for his mother, who apparently thought Guy Pearce was gonna take it home. You know how moms are… she secretly knew he’d win but just wanted him to act surprised.
Check out Peter Dinklage’s Golden Globes acceptance speech!
World famous dog-sitter Kitty was not mentioned tonight, however, the actor was nervous about leaving his newborn DAUGHTER (congrats!) home with a baby-sitter.
Unfortunately, Game of Thrones did not win best Drama TV Series. The win went instead to Showtime’s Homeland. We’re not even going to talk about the People’s Choice snubs a few weeks back. Looking at the winners for that awards show, I think they’re probably a totally different beast that doesn’t like to acknowledge any series not on basic cable.
Peter Dinklage and GoT Golden Globes Noms
The nominees have been announced for the 2011 Golden Globes and guess who’s on it? HBO’s Game of Thrones has been nominated for Best Drama Series and is up against the likes of Homeland, American Horror Story, Boardwalk Empire and Boss – all cable network series, showing the talent present on cable these days.
Peter Dinklage has also made the cut, naturally, with the likes of Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family), Paul Giamatti (Too Big to Fail), Tim Robbins (Cinema Verite) and Guy Pearce (Mildred Pierce) in the Best Supporting Actor category. Tune in to NBC on January 15, 2012 as Ricky Gervais hosts The Golden Globes!
Good luck to the GoT folks!
Peter Dinklage: Stud
In their 2011 Men of the Year issue, GQ have finally outed Peter Dinklage as a stud. Rumors have flown around this subject all year, but today GQ broke the news and provided evidence.
Can’t wait to see what 2012 brings for Peter Dinklage!
Official: Peter Dinklage to Play Herve Villechaize
Many moons ago, my little birds told me that maybe-possibly Peter Dinklage was going to play Herve Villechaize in the upcoming biography, My Dinner with Herve. It turns out the rumor was true, and the movie should start shooting next year. Dominic Cooper co-stars as the reporter who last interviews the actor, best known as Tattoo from Fantasy Island, before he committed suicide on September 4, 1993.
The actual reporter who met with Villechaize was Sacha Gervasi, the screenwriter and director of the upcoming film. No other names have been announced, and casting is still in the works.
Quoth Peter Dinklage to TV Guide: “He was an amazing painter and did a lot of charity work with children but had tremendous heartbreak.”
Peter Dinklage Wins Spike Award
Peter Dinklage is really raking in the awards! He has received the illustrious achievement of Best Supporting Actor from Spike TV’s 2011 Scream Awards for his role as Tyrion Lannister in HBO’s Game of Thrones.
You can watch Peter accept his award via magic tonight (Tuesday, Sept. 18th) at 8/9 Central on, of all places, Spike TV.
Up against the likes of Kieran Culkin (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World), Rupert Grint AND Alan Rickman (Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows), as well as Tommy Lee Jones (Captain America: The First Avenger), Peter Dinklage managed to come out on top. Also worth noting: Game of Thrones won for Best TV Show!
Notice that Fringe didn’t win anything this time around. Boo-hoo!
Peter Dinklage Emmy Acceptance Speech
Just thought you’d enjoy watching this video clip of Peter Dinklage winning the Emmy for Best Supporting Actor (Drama) on Sunday night!
I love that he thanked his pet sitter for watching his dog while he was filming Game of Thrones.
Peter Dinklage Wins Emmy!
He did it! He did it! Yaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!
Peter Dinklage won Best Supporting Actor at the 2011 Emmy Awards for his role as Tyrion Lannister in HBO’s Game of Thrones!
*does happy dance x3*
All his fans knew it was inevitable. This was a much deserved win. More details… maybe video… to come, now I must bask in the glow.
Oh ya, congrats, Mr. Dinklage! You deserved it.
It never ends….

Peter Dinklage was not in the movie In Bruges, yet his Wikipedia page is changed at least twice a month
This is pretty much a continuing saga…. A vigilant editor has put a note in there letting everyone who tries to edit the Peter Dinklage Wikipedia page that he was NOT in the movie In Bruges.
Wikipedia is a precarious world of words.
