It never ends….

Peter Dinklage was not in the movie In Bruges

Peter Dinklage was not in the movie In Bruges, yet his Wikipedia page is changed at least twice a month

This is pretty much a continuing saga…. A vigilant editor has put a note in there letting everyone who tries to edit the Peter Dinklage Wikipedia page that he was NOT in the movie In Bruges.

Wikipedia is a precarious world of words.

Peter Dinklage also Narrates in The Wordy Shipmates

I know you’ve probably been wondering the same thing that I have. “That Peter Dinklage has a fine voice, why doesn’t he do more voice acting?” Well it turns out that he’s done a bit of voice over work, thank you very much!

Peter Dinklage has narrated at least two documentaries, a miniseries titled The Real Family of Jesus and Freedom Machines from POV, a PBS documentary series. We announced a few weeks back that he also voices one of the stories in The Bippolo Seed, a collection of “lost” tales from Dr. Seuss.

Finding voice actor credits for book narration is rather difficult, as not all narrators are listed on the audiobook. I’ve compiled a pretty solid list of his works, so when I stumbled upon a reference to Peter Dinklage narrating in The Wordy Shipmates by author Sarah Vowell, I was skeptical. But it’s legit! He reads the part of Roger Williams, an English-born Puritan with heretical notions of freedom of religion and the separation of church and state. He also was one of the founders of Rhode Island; he helped buy the island from a local tribe.

The book has gotten pretty good reviews, but I did gather that although it has a historical bent, it’s got many of the author’s personal anecdotes and memoirs from the present sprinkled throughout the novel. Some people complained about her speaking voice being nasally or whiny, but I don’t find it a problem. I might change my mind after 7 hours though.

Take a listen and see what you think!

Peter Dinklage Narrates in Lost Dr. Seuss Stories

My little birds wanted me to tell you that Peter Dinklage is one of the narrators of the audio version of The Bippolo Seed and Other Lost Stories, a collection of stories by the one and only Dr. Seuss.

In fact, they’ve just finished recording.

Other narrators for the audio book edition include: Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog) Joan Cusack (Toys, Toy Story 2 & 3), Anjelica Huston (The Adams Family, The Royal Tenenbaums), Jason Lee (My Name Is Earl, Alvin and the Chipmunks), Edward Hermann (Oz, Gilmore Girls), all of whom are experienced voice actors.

Seuss scholar and collector Charles D. Cohen hunted down stories written by Dr. Seuss (AKA Theodor Geisel) and published during the early 1950s in a variety of magazines.

The Bippolo Seed and Other Lost Stories will be released by Random House this Fall; the hardcover and the audio version from Amazon will be available September 27.

Peter Dinklage at Comic-Con 2011 Wrap-up: GoT and Knights of Badassdom Panels

Peter Dinklage had a lot going on at San Diego Comic-Con this year. Not only did he have two panels to attend, he also gave some interviews and attended press events.

Sadly, I was not in attendance at Comic-con 2011 so I have nothing to report first-hand. But I did scour the internet to find some of the best video clips and interviews for you, fellow Dinklage fans.

Game of Thrones Panel

The GoT panel at Comic-Con had a huge turnout, thousands in line had to be turned away. Long line was loooong.

Hopefully you got to follow along with some live coverage of the panel from either HBO Connect or Winter-is-Coming.net. If not, then check out this run-down from WiC’s very special FaBio. Sums it up nicely!

Just in case you want to see the event with your own eyes, a number of kindly folk have uploaded on the ‘Tube: here (via ThinkHero), here (in bite-sized chunks) and here.

Knights of Badassdom Panel

More quipping from Peter Dinklage at the KOB panel, with fellow costars Ryan Kwanten (True Blood), Summer Glau (Firefly), Jimmi Simpson (Always Sunny in Philidelphia) and director Joe Lynch (Wrong Turn 2).

Couldn’t dig up any live footage, but BleedingCool.com provided some live blogging and a few minor spoilers from the cast.

Here are some great articles on Peter Dinklage’s skills in battle, insight into his character Hung, and some more goodies on the KOB cast are buried in this con-report from EOnline.com.

Watch the Knights of Badassdom trailer! “In a world….” prefaces all the greatest trailers.

Fingers crossed that Knights of Badassdom is released Spring 2012.

Peter Dinklage Annotated Timeline

Since I haven’t posted in several many days, and being that I just got A Dance with Dragons with which I’ll be MIA for just as long, I thought a quick mention of the latest chart I put together on the Peter Dinklage Popularity page would suffice for a blog post.

Maybe not; history will be the judge.

I’ve been playing around with Google Docs and spreadsheets and whatnot for a good many years and love the flexibility of it. The execution of doing what you want is still somewhat limited, especially exporting. Anyways, I really love the Annotated Timeline format and thought the best use for it EVER would be to make a Peter Dinklage “Timeline of Tweets” and other social media mentions. So I did, and I can now share it with world, thanks to some Google Gadgets. More info on the Popularity Page, but basically this maps out the twitter, facebook, flicker, photobucket and a ton of other “social” sites that have people talking about Peter Dinklage.

So as I keep tabs on that busy Mr. Dinklage, I can keep you all up to date as well. It’s pretty much the best thing ever on the list of best things ever. Cross your fingers that it keeps working, because I have no idea how to fix it if it blows up.

Peter Dinklage in My Dinner with Herve?

My little birds tell me that Peter Dinklage is starring in My Dinner with Herve, a biographical flick directed by Sacha Gervasi (Anvil! The Story of Anvil). The movie is based on Gervasi’s interview with actor Herve Villechaize (Tattoo in TV’s Fantasy Island) days before the actor committed suicide in 1993. Gervasi wrote the screenplays for The Terminal, starring Tom Hanks, and The Big Tease and Henry’s Crime, in which he was also the executive producer.

Dinklage has been rumored to play the part for several years, but I hear tell that test shoots are currently underway with Peter Dinklage and co-star Dominic Cooper. If all goes as planned, they may film this Fall, after Game of Thrones wraps for the season.

Edit: Shortly after I posted this, The Playlist also reported the same story. It’s not officially confirmed, but close enough for all of us gossip-hungry fans, right?

Peter Dinklage at the Knights of Badassdom Comic-Con Panel!

The Knights of Badassdom movie panel has been confirmed for San Diego Comic-Con! Peter Dinklage will be appearing with fellow KOB cohorts Ryan Kwanten (True Blood), Summer Glau (Firefly) and Danny Pudi (Community) to screen the trailer for the movie.

What’s that you ask? What is Knights of Badassdom? It’s only a role-player’s (read: nerd’s) dream movie! Not only does it star some of the best actors from the best fantasy TV series ever, the concept is about Live Action Role Playing, or LARPing, as people in the know call it. Want to learn more? Be sure to like Knights of Badassdom on Facebook and follow them on twitter!

KOB is brought to us by IndieVest Pictures, a premiere film studio that makes sure the best independent feature films reach an audience. IndieVest Pictures produced St. John of Las Vegas in 2008, which also features a Peter Dinklage performance.

This SDCC panel will be held on Saturday, July 23rd in Hall H. Peter Dinklage will also be in the Game of Thrones panel on Thursday the 21st. Filming for Season 2 of Game of Thrones starts Monday, July 25th so he’s going to have a busy weekend!
