My Norns have differences in the numbers of certain genes based on gender. My females seem to have greater numbers of genes in the chemical categories; I think this is due to their reproductive systems or some such. The chemical receptors started out with 40 for males and 42 for females; I have had a few males go up to 42, one female go down to 41, and a few females go up to 44. The chemical emmiters have remained stable at 22 for males and 24 for females, perhaps this is the section that deals with reproduction? The chemical reaction genes have changed the most - starting at 55 males/56 females and now my highest are 60 males/61 females. Look, pose, and gait have remained stable and equal in both genders thru eight generations so far. Instincts have remained stable, but differ between the genders with 19 males/17 females, except with those bred with internet Norns who had them reduced due to gengineered with Grendels.
I have no idea what these changes do, I just blindly breed these numbers of genes higher and higher in my Norns. I encourage you to download my Norns and tell me if they behave differently from other Norns.
The one gene category that I have seen in effect on my Norns is their pigment gene. Aparently, the lower the pigment genes, the more concentration of color in the Norn. I have only had my pigment gene drop below my standard of 12 and not increased; but surely it happens. There are ways to make "perfect" (or as I like to refer to them, Extreme Color Norns) colored Norns. Thanks to folks like Sandra Linkletter, you can get the genomes for these colors and using the Genetic Preview Kit from Cyberlife pop out any kind of extreme color Norns. Goto my links section for these Web pages. Any further information that you have regarding genes is most appreciated, so e-mail me! :)
I have only used the Preview Kit a little; so I don't know what all the genes do. I'll tinker with them and post my findings soon.
